General Information
Description
Balcon del Golf is in the Riviera del Sol urbanisation, just a 30-minute drive from Malaga airport. With flights taking only approximately 2 hrs 20 minutes from London you can leave early in the morning and arrive at your destination in time for a leisurely lunch in the sun.
The self-catering apartment is our second home - not merely a holiday let - and we feel that this is reflected in the level of comfort provided by the accommodation, which comprises of two bedrooms (one double and one twin), a large and airy sitting/dining room leading out onto the balcony, fully equipped kitchen and one large family bathroom. There are two clean, good sized, communal swimming pools situated within the well-maintained gardens of the Balcon del Golf.
Bars and Restaurants
Adjacent is the Oasis Club (timeshare centre) which contains a small supermarket, bar and restaurant. The Terraza del Golf commercial centre is roughly a five-minute walk, and has a supermarket, cash point, and several restaurants overlooking the Miraflores Golf Centre.
“The strip” at Calahonda is a five-minute drive, and here you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants, with Indian, Italian, Chinese (we recommend the Slow Boat – good service and very reasonable prices) and Mexican all being available. Should you be in the mood to exercise the “little grey cells” then we recommend the quiz night at Bogarts on a Thursday (be warned – it gets quite competitive).
If you feel like venturing further, then try one of the restaurants at the lovely harbour at Cabopino, or the very pleasant “Newmarket” down in La Cala. If you feel like blowing the budget, you could try the Mijas Playa at La Cala or the Oceano Beach Hotel along the coast.
Places to Visit
Mingle with the rich and famous in Peurto Banus, visit the apes in Gibraltar, or visit the lovely old whitewashed town of Mijas. There are many lovely old villages inland where you will be able to see the “real Spain”. Of course, if you want lively nightlife there is always Fuengerola, Benalmadena, Torremolinos, or the well-known party hotspot of Marbella.
General
Car hire is not essential, however it is very reasonably priced and you can collect on arrival at Malaga Airport, as local bus and taxi services are very good and we have a local agent who will be pleased to arrange airport transfers.
Health care in Spain is very good, and hospital treatment is free as long as you have Form E111, available from the U.K. Post Office. The E111 is now issued as a card. Most local pharmacies speak good English, and are happy to advise on day-to-day health queries.

The Costa del Sol region
Riviera del Sol is an increasingly popular holiday
area, situated mid-way between the resorts of
La Cala and Calahonda, and is only a 30 minute
drive from Malaga Airport on the N340 coast road.
Within easy reach of Marbella and all the popular
wellknown resorts along the Costa del Sol.
Gibraltar is only an hour away and Africa (Tangier)
is within easy reach for a day, or longer, trip.
Mijas Costa Riviera del Sol
Balcon del Golf area
Riviera has it’s own golf course (Miraflores) within
a few minutes drive which has a golf academy and
driving range. There are many golf courses in the
surrounding area, which are open to all.
There are excellent bars, restaurants and good
supermarkets all within a few minutes drive and
there is a bar, restaurant and small supermarket
in the Oasis timeshare development that
adjoins Balcon del Golf.
Activities In The Area
Other sporting activities are available locally
including Tennis, Bowls and various Water sports.
Great for: Walking, beach or poolside relaxation,
a winter sun break, and lively nightlife is only a
short cab journey away.
All the things you would expect to find on your
holiday and if you prefer the quiet life there are
many beautiful Spanish towns and villages in the
mountains a short drive away.
There is a small local beach, 1 mile away,
with beachside restaurant/bar however there are
beautiful beaches in nearby La Cala and Capobino.

Nearest airport is Malaga. Cheap flights avaliable
through Easyjet.com, flybe.com and flymonarch.com.
